Neuro-ophthalmologic Exam:
Ask: has vision deteriorated; is it one eye or both; if there is diplopia (if so, how are the images arranged; is it worse when looking in one direction or near/far); is blurry vision correctable with glasses; are things jumping or bouncing in vision?
Distance and near Visual Acuity (with pinhole correction if necessary)
Color vision, contrast (red = bright red?)
Pupils, EOM, skew and cover/uncover, closing and opening eyes
Maddox Rod
Saccades – if you can’t see eyes move during saccade that is normal
Pursuits
Fundoscopic exam; Blind spot
