Neuro-Oncology Overview
The Neuro-oncology rotation at Mount Sinai Hospital is a consult-only inpatient and outpatient rotation that occupies 2 weeks of the PGY2 year. During this rotation, you will work with the Neuro-oncology attending and NP to follow patients with active neuro-oncologic disease admitted to multiple services throughout the hospital. The rounding schedule will depend on the attending's clinic schedule and other responsibilities. In collaboration with the NP, you will see new consults during the day, collect historical data, examine the patient, write a consult note, develop a preliminary plan, and then staff with the attending either the same day or the following day. During the interspersed outpatient portion of the rotation, you will see patients in Neuro-oncology clinic under the supervision of a neuro-oncology attending. You will also attend Tumor Board Conference on Tuesdays at 4PM CNS Tumor Board.
